In BETWEEN, the hallucinatory effect of blackout and whiteout is used to induce an estranging experience of the twilight zone between ‘being’ and ‘not being’. A physical performance in which intense bursts of life force and extreme daring alternate with total submission to nothingness, emptiness. We enter that ambiguous domain where the imagination is released. For BETWEEN, Boukje Schweigman
works with her permanent designer Theun Mosk, dancer/choreographer Kenzo Kusuda from Japan, and five young performers.
