About Schweigman&
Being led too much by what’s in your head, the rational, we risk losing the connection with the body and the signals it gives. And in doing so become separated from our own self and from each other.

In the creative processes of Schweigman&, the body is central. Learning how to trust the body, intuition and the encounter with others is part of the Schweigman& methodology. We open our senses and our imagination and explore what it means to be vulnerable, to trust our own intuition and to face the world anew with curiosity and an open mind.

Why a Year Training?
During workshops we can discuss and explore our motives and values in a very direct way with participants, on the basis of mutual exchange. The intention is that we all learn from each other. In 2021 we would like to work with a small, enthusiastic group of professional peers, where we can go deeper into the essence of an exercise or theme. For you as a participant the Year Training can be part of your ongoing professional development beyond your own training or qualifications and a valuable source of inspiration for your own work and in your personal development.

Who is het for?
The Year Training is directed towards professional practitioners in theatre and dance and for those in the last phase of their performing arts professional studies.

  • Are you a dancer and would like to know more about how mime approaches movement?
  • Or are you a mimer looking for a deepening of the physical-sensory work?
  • Or a theatre teacher who would like to expand your range?
  • Or a self-taught professional working in theatre or dance, looking for a stronger basis?
  • Or a performer who wants to use the power of vulnerability as a strength?

Then the Year Training is what you’re looking for. *Language no problem!

Save the date: introduction Day 14 December
On Monday 14 December we will be running a whole-day workshop to get to know each-other, exploring how we fit together. We will then make a selection for participants for the Year Training starting in 2021, based on the composition and diversity of the group. All of our activities including the Year Training will be held under the strict corona regulations maintaining 1.5m distance and hygiene rules. Please note, as the current restriction of max 30 people per space still applies, this may require us to make a pre-selection for the Introduction Day, on the basis of your motivation letter and CV.
