Since 2017, the mime companies Golden Palace, Jakop Ahlbom Company and Schweigman& have joined forces in their common mission to give mime new impulses and enhanced visibility. They are working together with the Mime Opleiding (AHK). The annual Dag van de Mime is part of this.
On Wednesday 13 November the second edition of the Day of Mime will take place. In Het Huis Utrecht, mime makers will come together with colleagues, experts, students and programmers in various interactive work sessions to discuss, brainstorm and philosophize about important issues in mime, such as the various creative processes and the positioning of mime.
The day’s program opens with an introductory discussion with Jakop Ahlbom, Ingrid Kuijpers and Boukje Schweigman about their work practices, led by Patrick van der Hijden. Afterwards all participants will split up into more in-depth work sessions with different focal points. In the evening a triple bill will be presented with special mime performances by mimetheatergroep Botlek, Camila Romero Lema and mimecollectief Vege Lijf.
